Owing to insufficient members being able to fulfill the terms of its Consitution, The Buddhist Council of Wales was dissolved on the 3rd November 2019 and no longer exists.
The Buddhist Council of Wales was created at the request of the Welsh Government under the auspices of the Faith Communities Forum (FCF). The FCF have been informed of the dissolution of the Buddhist Council of Wales.
At the moment Ngakma Nor'dzin Pamo, the former Chair, is still being invited to meetings of the FCF. Please see here - https://gov.wales/faith-communities-forum - for more information about the FCF and the latest meeting minutes:
Buddhists wishing to raise matters that would normally have been submitted to the FCF, can write to Ngakma Nor'dzin Pamo at aro.ling.cardiff@gmail.com . Ngakma Nor'dzin will bring items up with the FCF when invited to a meeting.
That's very sad to hear, and a little hard to understand how this could be? Why were there insufficient members?
ReplyDeleteThere were member organisations but none of them could find individuals willing to attend meetings. Among those who did attend meetings it was not possible to fill the necessary positions for the Council to continue to function. Kind regards, Ngakma Nor’dzin Pamo (former Chair)
DeleteThat's very unfortunate. Thanks for letting me know.
